OUR STORY

Our Connection Church Story

Connection Church is the heart and passion Of Pepe and Leah Martinez, our founding pastors.

After successfully planting a church in Chiapas, Mexico, they returned to Canada in 2010. It was during this transition back to Canadian life that they felt a stirring in their hearts, a call from God to embark on a new journey of planting a church. In 2014, the journey of Connection Church began with a small group of people gathering on Sunday evenings in a helicopter hangar in Central Saanich.

Together, they prayed, shared meals, and laid the foundation for the church's vision.

The official launch of Sunday morning services took place on January 7, 2015, marking the start of our journey, which has seen continuous growth and expansion ever since. At the heart of Connection Church lies a deep desire to create a welcoming space where everyone can encounter God and become a faithful follower of Jesus.

Our pastors are committed to fostering a sense of community that goes beyond mere acquaintanceship, nurturing a church family that journeys together in faith, growth, and service within the Kingdom of God.

Pepe and Leah have been married for over two decades and have three children, Brandon, Josiah and Kianna.

OUR VISION

Connection Church exists to see people connect to Christ, the Church and their calling.

We truly believe that our church vision and purpose needed to be in line with the last words of Jesus.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42,46-47 ESV
